Statuses
Brief Update
I’m just popping in to say I’m sorry there hasn’t been much in the way of real content here over the last few days. I’m still working on some promotional stuff. I think I can squeeze a review out by the end of the weekend, though, so stay tuned.
Writing Update
I’m 75,000 words into Jake and the Dynamo: Dead to Rites, the sequel to The Wattage of Justice. It looks as if the second book is going to be considerably longer than the first one, as there’s still a lot of story to deal with.
Both books are similar in that, at least from the author’s perspective, it’s all about trying to get the characters to a certain place. The writing of the first novel was driven entirely by my desire to get Jake and Dana to a restaurant. The second is driven by my desire to get them to a rock concert.
Current Status
Today is a writing day for me. I’m working on the second volume of Jake and the Dynamo, and it’s coming along. As with the first one, it always surprises me somehow how long the action sequences take. I attack the city with something on a whim, and several chapters later, I’m still trying to clear out all the bad guys.
On the occasions I take breaks, I’m continuing my way through the Lyrical Nanoha franchise. I’m in the midst of the third anime series, StrikerS, at the moment. I will of course discuss it when I’m through.

And on another note, Roffles Lowell, the official illustrator for Jake and the Dynamo, sent along this little sketch after I announced that the book was set to release on June 1st.
I believe that’s a picture of Dana having finally conquered Chelsea in Magical Girl Rumble.

Updates and Current Projects
I’ve been swamped with both work and school, and I got behind while working through that massive series of posts on Cardcaptor Sakura.
I need to be dedicating free time, of which I presently have none, to preparing the first published volume of Jake and the Dynamo, so the blog might languish for a bit.
